Four More Years

Barack Obama's 2012 reelection campaign has not even gotten into first gear yet. And the latest figures suggest he will raise one Billion Dollars for this effort. The Republicans will have to get their act together very soon if they are going to beat him. Frankly, at this stage, I don't think they will. Below is what I think is Obama's first official campaign video for 2012. It was launched on the fifth anniversary of his announcement that he was running for President.

And below is what I think is his second campaign ad. Its title, and sound track, "Start Me Up" is an indication of the momentum the Obama campaign team are hoping to kick start.

It is far too early to make predictions. All we know for sure is that it is going to be a nasty campaign.

Obama's money will not be the deciding factor. It will depend entirely on who the Republicans nominate. If they go with a right wing extremist, like Santorum, Obama will win.

The outcome will be decided, as it usually is, by the independent voters. They may not be happy with Obama, but they are actually afraid of the extreme right of the Republican Party. To have a shot at defeating Obama, the Republicans need to nominate someone fiscally conservative and moderate on the social issues.

Perhaps, I do agree that Romney has the best chance of beating Obama but it is a double edge sword for the Republicans. It seems that Romney is unable to fire up the conservative wing of the Republican party. But as you say, the Republicans need a fiscal conservative who is moderate on social issues and that has to be Romney. It will be very tight come November.
