Says it all really !

President Obama has been reelected. The polls were remarkably accurate. And that tells us that Romney was winning last week but the storm may have turned it for Obama. More to come later today. And a big thank you to the DOUCHE BAGS at the Sugar Club in Dublin who promised us wifi at the Levianthan political cabaret last night. My plans to live blog until 6am were dashed. Instead I was forced to drink all night and get in arguments with minor celebrities.

A rather tragic choice. Whether or not people agreed with Romney's conservative values, the US was in an effective recession and its clear Obama wasn't (and isn't) able to get the nation out of it. Ireland and the rest of the world cheerleaded Obama on but one thing not mentioned (AFAIK) was the fact that a healthier US economy would do as much (or more) for lifting the EU (and other parts of the world) out of recession than the manifold cuts and economic centralisation. Market fears are a critical factor in bringing about a recovery, and the huge downturn came about due to fears over massive deficits, something which Obama added to and will do further.
